Matrix Biology Europe
Matrix Biology Europe (MBE)
is the main European scientific event for the extracellular matrix research community that takes place every other year in a different European city, where hundreds of extracellular matrix aficionados gather to discuss the latest findings in the field.
20 years past the XXth Meeting of the Federation of European Connective Tissue Societies, matrix biology returns to Oulu, Finland, from 29 June to 3 of July 2026 to bring together scientists from academia and industry.
In addition to cutting-edge research, MBE2026 will celebrate excellence across the matrix biology community by hosting the prestigious Rupert Timpl Award and the Dick Heinegård Young Investigator Award. These awards recognize outstanding scientific contributions and emerging talent, underscoring MBE’s commitment to scientific excellence, mentorship, and the next generation of leaders in extracellular matrix research.
We envision this meeting as a catalyst for the future of matrix biology, uniting generations of researchers to welcome new perspectives and to ignite the exchange of bold, cutting-edge discoveries.
Come and join us in Oulu for this unique scientific adventure!
